Our story
From the foothills of Snowdonia to the workshops of Bali
We've been travelling to Indonesia since 1994, and Jane has done the buying since 2007. The carvers we work with have become friends — we've watched their families grow and their workshops develop.
We buy direct, pay what's asked, and bring it all back to a little shop in a Welsh village.

Traded fairly, person to person
Most of the craftspeople we work with are family groups and small co-operatives — too small to qualify for official Fair Trade certification. So we do it ourselves: we buy in person, agree fair prices, and encourage sustainable and recycled materials.
